Habitat for Humanity

Viking Commercial Construction has always felt the need to give back to our community. In the past Viking has teamed up with Baja Christian Ministries helping build a house across the border, worked with North Coast Calvary Chapel when they needed a room to be demolished and built out to be the new space for the High School group. This time we were able to team up with Habitat for Humanity and pour into an Oceanside community.
Every two years, across the US, Habitat for Humanity runs a program for one week called the Builders Blitz. The goal is to build as many houses during this week as possible. Normally all the houses in the various states are single story, so getting a house or two done in a week is a no brainer, well not for us in Oceanside. We were given the task of building the only two story houses during the Blitz. With the distant memories of the Encinitas Extreme Makeover Home Edition on our minds, we stepped up to the challenge and in the end we were the only contractor to finish a two story house in the week that was allotted.
As always, it was such a great reward to be able to deliver a home to a very deserving family. We can’t wait till the next Blitz!
